MBL® - Top class volumetrics

The origins of the MBL® brand date back to the establishment of Morbank Limited in Pontypridd, South Wales in 1949. Morbank specialised in the manufacture of volumetric products manufactured from both borosilicate and soda-lime glass. Through a series of acquisitions, the MBL® brand became part of the SciLabware glass portfolio in 1987. Comprising of around 300 mainly volumetric products, MBL® is now a well-established glass brand of SciLabware.

All SciLabware manufactured volumetric products, including MBL® flasks and cylinders, are tested and calibrated in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration laboratory located at SciLabware’s glass manufacturing facility in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Although all of our volumetric glassware is manufactured to comply with the relevant ISO or national standard, the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation offers our customers an additional assurance of the accuracy and precision of our volumetric glassware.

The MBL® volumetric glassware range includes volumetric flasks, measuring and mixing cylinders, pipettes and burettes, all manufactured, tested and calibrated to the highest accuracy standards.

For almost 70 years, MBL® has gained an international reputation for its quality, accuracy and performance - a reputation that continues to this day.

The MBL® volumetric glassware range

The core MBL® volumetric products comprise volumetric flasks, measuring and mixing cylinders, pipettes and burettes. All of these volumetric products are manufactured and calibrated to the highest accuracy standards.

In addition to volumetric glassware, the MBL® range also includes clear and amber soda-lime glass reagent bottles, Nessler cylinders and dropping bottles.

Choose the right level of accuracy for your application

Products in the MBL® volumetric glassware range are available in two levels of accuracy – Class B or Class A/AS. Products calibrated to Class B accuracy tolerances are suitable for general use applications where high volumetric accuracy is not required. Class A/AS volumetric items should be used where higher volumetric accuracy is required, such as analytical applications, as the accuracy tolerances of a Class A/AS item are half those of the equivalent Class B product. MBL® Class AS pipettes and burettes are calibrated to the same accuracy as a Class A item, but the liquid outflow time is faster.

Most MBL® Class A volumetric items are available with batch conformity certification for traceability purposes. These certificates can be downloaded from the Support section of our website. MBL® volumetric and graduated pipettes are also available with individual calibration certificates, which are supplied with the products.
